If you are unfortunately involved in a traffic accident, whether there is/are bodily injury(ies) or death(s) or not, or if your motor is stolen, stay calm, ensure safety of all parties and avoid any attempted move of casualty(ies) or motor. You should call 999 and report to the police immediately, then call Well Link Insurance Claims Hotline immediately at +852 2884 8899. Our Claims Specialist will provide immediate guidance accordingly. Even in the event of a traffic accident with no bodily injury, you shall report the case to the police within 24 hours after the accident.

In the event of a traffic accident caused by the negligence of the third party(ies), you should report the case to the police as soon as possible to protect your own interest.

If you settle the dispute amicably with a third party, usually an insurance claim is not required; yet you must report the accident to Well Link Insurance. In addition, you shall submit the signed settlement agreement or letter of claim withdrawal to Well Link Insurance.

Calculation on the market value of the insured vehicle is based on the current market price of a similar (brand, make and model, age and condition) of the vehicle at the time of accident. Market value provided by car dealers and professional loss adjusters is also considered by Well Link Insurance.

Stay away from hazard and ensure personal safety whether you are riding on or near a burning motorcycle. Whether the insured motorcycle has been stolen or damaged by arson attack, you should call 999 and report to the police immediately for investigation and obtain a police report. If the insured motorcycle is damaged by arson attack, record the details of responsible officer on-site and obtain a duplicate copy of fire report. Once you have obtained the police statement and / or the duplicate copy of fire report, please call Well Link Insurance Claims Hotline at +852 2884 8899 for filing a claim.

If you are unfortunately involved in a traffic accident, whether there is/are bodily injury(ies) or death(s) or not, or a hit and run traffic accident, or an accident involving government vehicle or property, pedestrian or cyclist, stay calm, ensure safety of all parties and avoid any attempted move of casualty(ies) or motor. You should call 999 and report to the police immediately, then call Well Link Insurance Claims Hotline immediately at +852 2884 8899. Our Claims Specialist will provide immediate guidance accordingly.

If the repair cost of the insured motorcycle is higher than the current market value, Well Link Insurance may decide to settle the claim as a constructive total loss. However, the insured motorcycle is still eligible for repairing at your own choice. Well Link Insurance will only reimburse up to the market value of the insured motorcycle after deducting respective excess.

  • Report the accident to local police within 24 hours and collect a duplicate copy of police statement

Required Claim Documents

Please submit your claim to Well Link Insurance within 30 days upon return to Hong Kong with the following documents (if applicable):

  • Completed claim form
  • Duplicate copy of passport showing departure and arrival record
  • Duplicate copy of original itinerary


Respective documents for particular type(s) of travel insurance claims must also be submitted as below:

Medical Expenses

  • Medical report and other medical documents
  • Original copy of medical bills
  • Police report (for injury or death resulted from traffic accident or criminal event)
  • Certified true copy of death documents e.g. death certificate, autopsy report and coroner's findings (if applicable)


Trip Cancellation

  • Medical report and other medical documents, including medical advice or certificate issued by qualified medical practitioner (if applicable)
  • Original receipt of booked trip
  • Written refund confirmation issued by travel agent and/or airline
  • Certified true copy of death documents e.g. death certificate, autopsy report and coroner's findings (if applicable)
  • Proof of relationship (for illness, injury or death of relative(s))


Loss / Damage of Luggage and Personal Belongings

  • Copy of police report lodged at place of loss within 24 hours
  • Luggage loss or damage report issued by airline
  • Written compensation confirmation issued by airline
  • Photos of damaged items
  • Original (purchase/repair) receipt(s) and warranty card(s) of lost or damaged items

Missed flights and delays

  • Written confirmation on cause and duration of flight delay issued by airline
  • Delay report and acknowledgement slip issued by airline (for baggage delay)

Rental Car Excess

  • Rental car agreement (including insurance coverage and terms and conditions)
  • International driving licence
  • Photos of damaged rental car
  • Duplicate copy of police report or traffic accident report (if applicable)
  • Original payment receipt of excess

Accidental Death

  • Proof of relationship between the deceased and claimant
  • Certified true copy of death documents e.g. death certificate, autopsy report and coroner's findings (if applicable)
  • Certified true copy of letters of administration/grant of probate (if applicable)
  • Duplicate copy of police report or traffic accident report (if applicable)


Total and Permanent Disablement

  • Medical report completed by attending physician and other medical documents

Required Claim Documents

Please submit your claim to Well Link Insurance within 30 days from the date of discharge with the following documents:

  • Completed claim form
  • Original hospital receipt
  • Medical report and other medical documents, including pathological, laboratory and / or surgical reports
  • Duplicate copy of Hong Kong Identity Card
  • Proof of relationship (For children only)
  • Duplicate copy of police report (For accident)
  • Claim adjustment (if applicable)

Claims FAQs

To make a claim from your health insurance, you shall submit the claim to Well Link Insurance within 30 days from the date of discharge from the hospital and send us a completed health insurance claim form with the relevant supporting documents.

If you choose not to make any claim of medical expenses from us, you will be entitled to make a claim under hospital cash allowance that does not affect your NCD. If you have been hospitalised in the general ward of public hospital, and your reimbursement of medical expenses is far lower than the daily hospitalization allowance, you are entitled to make a claim.

Only a minor surgery undergone at the day clinic of a hospital that falls under your selected hospital tier is eligible for a claim.
